Alumni Spotlight: Alexis Moed '03
May 26, 2021 | Women's Hockey
In this edition of 'Alumni Spotlight' catch up with former Eagle, Alexis Moed '03, who was a member of both the women's hockey team and the sailing team while at Boston College.
What is your favorite memory about your time as an Eagle, on or off the ice?
My favorite memory is of all the team bonding we did during the preseason and during off-ice training or having post-practice meals at Lower or Hillside – and all of our time spent on the bus traveling to away games.
What are you most proud of from your time as an Eagle?
I'm most proud of being an Eagle. I'm proud of making it to the Division I level and being a part of the hockey program at Boston College.
What advice would you give to your college self or current Eagles?
I would say to enjoy every minute and don't forget any of your experiences. There is no such thing as a bad day when you're at Boston College.
Where do you currently live and what do you do?
I currently live on Long Island and I work for the New York Islanders (as the head coach and president of the New York Islanders Girls Elite Hockey Program).
How did your collegiate career prepare you for life after college?
My time in college taught me time management and it taught me how to work hard and push through challenges.
What personal or professional accomplishments are you most proud of since you graduated from Boston College?
I'm proud of working for the New York Islanders and starting their first-ever women's hockey program, the New York Islanders Girls Elite Hockey Program.
How are you still involved with hockey?
Yes, heavily!
What Eagle teams or athletes have you enjoyed watching since you graduated?
I will occasionally watch the football games.
