Denis Gallagher advances to Saturday's 800m final
RALEIGH, N.C. — Boston College moved up the on the team scoreboard during day two of competition at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Championship, held at the Paul Derr Track Facility on the campus of N.C. State.Â
Avery McKenzie placed sixth in the triple jump, with a personal-best leap of 15.28m (50'1.75"). It is the third-best triple jump mark in Boston College history.
Denis Gallagher won his qualifying heat of the 800m, advancing to Saturday's final. He clocked 1:52.72. Friend Weiler ran a personal-best time of 1:52.80, finishing 15th overall. Ben Davies also registered a personal best (1:53.62), placing 20th.
On Thursday, Marcus Manson won his trial heat of the 400m hurdles in a personal best time of 52.27, advancing to the finals with the fourth-fastest time of the afternoon. Jackson Sigalove was 15th in a personal-best tie of 57.32.
Steven Jackson was 24th in the trials of the 1,500m, in a personal-best time of 3:49.92. Ben Ruffing was 30th (3:53.65), also clocking a PR time.
