Eagles Set for ACC Championship

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After two weeks of preparation, the Boston College rowing team is set for the two-day ACC Championship May 14-15 on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.

ACC Network Extra coverage is available for the preliminary rounds on Friday and the finals on Saturday. A one-hour championship recap show will air on ACC Network on Sunday, May 23 at 7 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fans will not be permitted to attend the championship.

Day one action will start on Friday at 8:05 a.m. with the first heat of the 3V8 race, while the finals kick off on Saturday morning at 8:05 a.m. with the petite final of the 3V8.

ACC CHAMPIONSHIP QUICK HITS
-This marks the 11th consecutive and 17th overall time that the ACC Championship is being held at Lake Hartwell.
-Virginia has won the last 10 ACC championships and 19 of the 20 titles, with all of those wins coming under head coach Kevin Sauer.
-At the 2019 ACC Championship, captain Kyle Kraemer earned All-ACC Second Team honors for BC.

A FEW FAMILIAR FACES
-The Eagles have raced against four of the eight ACC opponents already this season, having seen Duke, North Carolina, Clemson, and Miami at the Lake Wheeler Invitational back in April.
-The BC 2V8 boat picked up a win over UNC in the Final 2 on the second day of competition.

LAST TIME OUT
-Boston College was last in action May 1-2 with two days of rowing on the Charles River.
-On Saturday, May 1, the Eagles raced against Boston University, UMass and Dartmouth, with the BC 1V4 boat picking up a win over BU.
-On Sunday, May 2, against Northeastern, Rhode Island and Boston University, the Eagles saw the 1V4 beat out BU for the second consecutive day in earning a third-place finish while the 2V4 B boat eked out a win over the Terriers as well.
