BC linebacker goes in the sixth round to the Packers
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College linebacker Isaiah McDuffie was selected with the 220nd pick in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft Saturday by the Green Bay Packers.
He is the 10th Boston College player drafted by the Packers since 1967 and joins former teammate AJ Dillon in Green Bay.
McDuffie is the 220th player in Boston College history to be selected in the NFL or AFL Draft. Since 1980, Boston College had at least one player drafted every year except 2005 and 2013.
McDuffie is the second Eagle selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, joining tight end Hunter Long who went in the third round to the Miami Dolphins.
"We are all excited for Isaiah as he was able to hear his name called by the Green Bay Packers in the draft," said Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley. "He was such a productive player in our defense and we look forward to watching him play on Sundays with the Packers."
McDuffie led BC and ranked fifth in the nation with 107 tackles in 2020. He was ranked 30th nationally with 9.7 tackles per game.
The Buffalo native had a career-best 16-tackle performance vs. No. 2 Notre Dame. The 16 tackles tied for second most by an ACC player all season.
He ended the season with double-digit tackle totals in seven games, including six of 10 ACC contests.
