
Boston College Trio Named Division I All-Americans

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Matt Boldy, Spencer Knight and Drew Helleson were honored as Division I All-Americans on Friday night by the American Hockey Coaches Association (ACHA). Boldy and Knight were selected to the First Team, while Helleson was a Second Team selection.

The trio gives Boston College a total of 74 All-Americans in program history, including 50 First Team selections. Boldy and Knight are the first Eagles to be named First Team All-Americans since Johnny Gaudreau and Kevin Hayes in 2014.

Boldy and Knight were both Hockey East First Team All-Stars and Top-10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award as sophomores. Boldy ranked third nationally in points per game with 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points in 22 contests. Knight was fifth in the country with a .932 save percentage and was tied for fourth in winning percentage (.786).

Helleson joined his classmates on the Hockey East First All-Star Team and was recognized as the Best Defensive Defenseman in the league. Helleson was top-20 in the nation in scoring by a defenseman with a career-high 15 points, and was plus-23 on the season to rank third nationally.

The All-Americans were teammates at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championships as Team USA beat Canada to win the gold medal for the first time since 2017.
