Lopez Victorious in ACC Road Defeat to Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – Boston College traveled to Clemson to begin the final weekend of the regular season on Saturday afternoon at The Duckworth Family Tennis Facility, falling to the Tigers by a final score of 6-1.

BC drops to 4-10 overall, 2-10 in ACC play, while the Tigers move to 9-14 (3-10 ACC).

The top tandem of Kylie Wilcox and Yufei Long controlled the No. 1 doubles match, winning by a score of 6-4. The Tigers gained momentum in second and third doubles, and eventually clinched the opening point of the match.

The Eagles continued to put pressure on Clemson in singles play, but came up short. Junior Laura Lopez was the only Eagle to pull out a victory as she beat Clemson's Ali DeSpain in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 on Court 3.
Wilcox, Long and Maria Ross all won their first set 7-5, but went on to drop the second and third sets to Cristina Mayorova, Sophia Hatton, and Lana Sipek, respectively.Â

Boston College visits 14th-ranked Georgia Tech on Sunday morning (April 18) at 11 a.m. to close out the ACC regular season.
