Eagles Fall to Wake Forest in Spring ACC Opener

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina – The Boston College field hockey team fell, 3-0, to Wake Forest on Saturday, March 6 in its ACC opener.
Jonna Kennedy made 10 saves in goal, but it wasn't enough as Wake Forest out-shot BC 20-13.
The Demon Deacons opened the scoring 7:36 into the game and no one else would score in the first half.
Wake then added two in the second half in the 35th and 48th minutes of the game, both off the stick of Hannah Maxwell.
BC did have some chances, earning five penalty corners on the day. The Eagles did score twice, but both were overturned on reviews.
What's Next
BC is back at home for a pair of games at the Newton Field Hockey Complex. On Friday, March 12, New Hampshire comes to town for a 2 p.m. matchup, while Saturday, March 13 the Eagles take on Vermont at 3 p.m.
