Six BC players reach double-digits in scoring; CJ Felder blocks career-high six shots
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- James Karnik led six Eagles in double figures with 15 points, as Boston College dropped an 80-76 decision on Friday in a regular-season finale.
BC erased Miami's largest lead of the game of nine points with a 11-0 run while the Hurricanes went scoreless for over 4 1/2 minutes to trail 68-66 with 3:40 left. The Hurricanes responded with a 9-0 run that gave them a 75-68 lead with 1:49 remaining. Boston College got within three on a 3-pointer by Frederick Scott with 6.4 seconds to go but could get no closer.
McGusty was 9-of-12 shooting with four 3-pointers and five assists. Nysier Brooks scored a career-high 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Anthony Walker added 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Miami, injury-plagued all season, had just six scholarship athletes available but were able to snap a six-game losing streak.
Karnik hit all nine of his free throws and was 3-for-6 from the floor. He also grabbed five rebounds. Makai Ashton-Langford added 13 points, a career-best eight assists, four rebounds, and a steal. Scott and Kamari Williams scored 11 points each. Scott added eight boards, while Williams pulled down six. CJ Felder had 10 points and a career-high six blocks. Jay Heath finished with 10 points.

- Karnik's 9-for-9 performance from the line was a season-best by a BC Eagle. The last BC player to go perfect from the foul line with a minimum of nine attempts was Derryck Thornton (11-11) vs. N.C. State on Feb. 16, 2020.
- CJ Felder's six blocked shots were a career-high and the most in a game by a BC player since Eddie Odio registered six blocks vs. Maryland on Feb. 19, 2013.
- Makai Ashton-Langford tied his career-best of eight assists, previously set at Georgetown on Jan. 12, 2019.
- His assist/turnover ratio improved to 2.00:1 and puts him above the ACC minimum (3.0 apg) to qualify for the league leaders in that statistical category.
- Kamari Williams made 3-of-5 shots from the perimeter to go along with a career-best six boards. It was his highest point total in a game since scoring 14 points last season at Miami.
- Frederick Scott's eight rebounds were a season-high. He has grabbed 15 boards in his last two games.
- Jay Heath reached double digits for the 15th time this season - including eight straight contests.
- BC connected on 41.9% from the floor (26-62) - including 9-of-26 from beyond the arc. The Eagles made 15-of-18 from the foul line.
- 47 - A combined 47 points were scored by reserve players on the night. Miami reserves tallied 26 points, while BC bench players had 21 points.
- Five Boston College players reached double figures in efficiency rating at Miami, led by Makai Ashton-Langford's 20.
- James Karnik logged a 17, while CJ Felder posted a 15 in EFF. Kamari Williams (13) and Frederick Scott (12) also reach double-digits.
