Home Opener Moved to Wednesday vs. URI

BC baseball welcomes Rhode Island to Harrington Athletics Village.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team's home opener has been moved up to Wednesday, March 3 against Rhode Island at 3 p.m. from the Harrington Athletics Village. Weather in Boston is expected to be in the mid-40s and sunny at first pitch.

BC and URI were initially scheduled to play in South Kingstown on Wednesday, April 21. That game date will still be held. The Eagles' originally scheduled opening day from Brighton was set for March 10 against Holy Cross, which will still be played next Wednesday.

There will be no broadcast of the game. Due to Covid-19 regulations, fans will not be permitted at the game.

Boston College is 5-1 and ranked No. 18 in the country following a series win over No. 11/25 Duke. Rhode Island is 2-4 after a series win at Old Dominion. The Eagles lead the all-time series against the Rams, 42-25-1. In 2019, BC swept a home-and-home series against URI; 4-0 at home and 2-1 on the road.
