Eagles Push No. 7 Florida State to the Limit in 4-3 Defeat

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – Boston College gave seventh-ranked Florida State everything it could handle on Friday afternoon at the Weymouth Club, but the Eagles eventually fell by a score of 4-3.

BC dropped back to .500 at 4-4 overall and 2-4 in ACC play, while the Seminoles improved to to 10-3 (5-2 ACC).

Seniors Yufei Long and Kylie Wilcox kicked the afternoon off by taking their doubles match convincingly as the 25th-ranked pair won 6-2. FSU's Guilia Pairone and Anna Arkandianou won their third doubles match, leaving No. 2 doubles to decide the point. BC's Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar came out on top 7-5, clinching the point for the Eagles.

Kylie Wilcox continued the momentum as the senior captain dominated her No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-2 against Emmanuelle Salas. The Seminoles won the next three singles matches with victories from No. 106 Victoria Allen, Andrea Garcia, and No. 27 Pairone.
Aguiar rebounded by posting an impressive straight set victory in third singles over Arkandianou to tie the contest 3-3. The deciding match was between No. 92 Nandini Das and Natasha Irani, as Das came out on top 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the win for FSU.
