
BC Closes Out Regular Season with 92-75 Loss at Syracuse

Eagles set their sights on next week’s ACC Tournament
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Taylor Soule scored 23 points and fellow classmate Makayla Dickens scored 20 points but it was not enough as Syracuse earned a 92-75 victory over visiting Boston College Thursday night inside the Carrier Dome.

The Orange dominated in the paint, outscoring BC 48-22.

The win moved Syracuse to 12-6 overall and 9-6 in the ACC while BC dropped to 6-11 on the year and 2-11 in the ACC.

Syracuse opened the game on a 10-0 run, but BC climbed back into it by connecting on four three-point field goals in the quarter to make it 20-16 after 10 minutes of play.

Dickens was red-hot to lead the Eagles in the opening 20 minutes as she finished the half with 14 points, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc.

Syracuse opened its largest lead of the game just before halftime as the Orange used a 10-1 run to push its cushion to 41-27 before heading into the locker room with a 43-31 halftime advantage.

The Orange shot 47.1 percent in the first 20 minutes, including six three-point field goals while holding Boston College to just 10-of-34 shooting (29.4%).

Syracuse continued its hot shooting from the field in the third quarter as the Orange connected on 68.8 percent of their shots to carry a 74-58 lead into the fourth.

BC's offense came alive in the third quarter as the Eagles scored 27 points.

Cameron Swartz finished with 17 points and seven rebounds while Soule finished with a double-double adding 12 rebounds to her 23-point night. Dickens nailed six three-point field goals and made 7-of-12 from the field for the Eagles.

Boston College returns to action Wednesday, March 3 in the first round of the 2021 ACC Women's Basketball Tournament in Greensboro, N.C. The official bracket for the tournament will be released on Sunday.
