Eagles Drop Road Match to Louisville 5-2

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Boston College went 1-1 on its first road trip of the year after falling to Louisville by a final score of 5-2 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Sunday.
BC's record moves to 2-2 (1-2 ACC), while the Cardinals jump to a 5-2 overall mark (2-0 ACC).
Louisville began the match with a 1-0 lead, winning the doubles point for the seventh straight contest to start season.
Senior Yufei Long, who is ranked No. 76 in singles, won in straight sets in the No. 1 slot against Nikolina Jovic. Freshman Sophia Edwards also picked up a straight set win for the Eagles in sixth singles against Tatiana Simova, putting BC on the board.
Andrea Di Palma clinched the match for Louisville in the No. 2 singles slot, beating Kylie Wilcox in three sets. Natasha Irani and Marice Aguiar also went to a third set in their singles matchups.
The Eagles return home next weekend as they host Virginia (Feb. 26) and Virginia Tech (Feb. 28) at the Weymouth Club.
