Zion Johnson Named to Prestigious Walter Camp All-America Team

Johnson is first the offensive lineman in school history to collect first-team honors.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College offensive guard Zion Johnson was named to the Walter Camp All-America team on Thursday night. This is the 132nd edition of the Walter Camp All-America team, the nation's oldest college football All-America team, and presented by 777 Partners.
Johnson becomes the first Boston College standout to earn Walter Camp All-America first team accolades since running back Andre Williams in 2013.
Johnson is the 16th Eagle in school history to receive Walter Camp All-America honors and the first offensive lineman in school history to collect first-team honors.
The Bowie, Md., native has been named to five All-America teams so far in 2021.
Johnson earned All-ACC accolades for the third time in his career and the first time he secured a spot on the All-ACC first team. The Maryland native allowed zero pressures in 2021 according to ESPN's advanced stats and just one sack in 2,288 career snaps at BC.
He graded out as the seventh-best guard nationally (83.4) according to Pro Football Focus (min. 700 snaps). Johnson is listed as the No. 1 guard in the 2022 NFL Draft according to ESPN's Todd McShay and rated the No. 32 overall prospect for the 2022 NFL Draft by McShay.
ESPN listed Johnson with just four blown blocks in 756 snaps this season and the No. 2 guard available for the 2022 draft by ESPN's Mel Kiper.
The Walter Camp All-Americans will be recognized at the Foundation's annual awards weekend, which will be held Feb. 25-26 in New Haven, Conn.
