
Hockey East Tabs Bilka, Guay for Weekly Awards

Hannah Bilka has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week and Alexie Guay has been named the Hockey East Defender of the Week.
AMESBURY, Mass. – Boston College forward Hannah Bilka has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week and defender Alexie Guay has been named the Hockey East Defender of the Week, as announced Monday by the league.

Bilka scored three goals and added one assist for four points in helping the Eagles to a two-win weekend at Maine. In Friday's 4-3 overtime victory, the junior scored twice – including the game-winning goal 27 seconds into overtime – for her fifth career multi-goal game. On Saturday, Bilka tied the game with just over a minute to play in the third period and then set up Kelly Browne's game-winning goal in overtime for the 2-1 win. The Coppell, Texas native finished the weekend with six shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating.

Guay totaled two points on one goal and one assist while blocking seven shots and firing four shots on goal on the weekend. Both of Guay's points came in Friday's win, as the junior opened the scoring with a power-play goal and then set up Bilka's game-winner in overtime. It was the eighth multi-point game of her career. The Magog, Quebec native had a plus-3 rating on the weekend.

This is the second time this season Bilka has been named Hockey East Player of the Week and third time in her career. This is also the second Hockey East Defender of the Week honor this season for Guay and the third of her career.
