Newhook Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

Abby Newhook has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
AMESBURY, Mass. – Hockey East announced on Monday that Boston College freshman Abby Newhook has been named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week.
The St. John's, Newfoundland native helped the Eagles to a 4-2 win over Holy Cross on Friday afternoon with two-point day on one goal and one assist. Her goal marked her fourth game-winning goal of the season. Additionally, it was her fifth multi-point outing of the year.
Newhook finished the two-game week with five shots on goal and a plus-2 rating. She now has a team-leading 13 points on eight goals and five assists along with her four game-winning goals. Her four game-winning goals rank second in the nation and lead all first-year players. Newhook is the first BC rookie to score four game-winning goals in a season since Andie Anastos '17 scored four during her 2013-14 freshman season.
This marks the third career weekly honor for Newhook, as she also earned Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 18 and Nov. 15.
