Eagles Have Impressive Showing at Northeast Fencing Conference

Both teams went undefeated against their opponents
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Boston College fencing team went undefeated at the first round of the Northeast Fencing Conference for the 2021-2022 season on Nov. 20.
The men went 5-0, defeating UMass, BU, Sacred Heart, and UNH, acquiring an automatic win from the Tufts team that did not compete. The women went 7-0, downing Wellesley, UMass, BU, Tufts, Sacred Heart, UNH, and Smith.
"Today was an excellent day for us," said Head Coach Brendan Doris-Pierce. "The woman's team picked up three wins against quality teams that always elevate their games against us. Our men's team saw a number of fencer gain valuable experience and strip time. The NFC is something we always want to be in the upper echelon of and today we took our first step towards that."
MEN'S RESULTS
-The sabre squad went 34-2 on the day, with 9-0 wins against BU and UNH.
-The epee squad went 30-6 in the competition, including a 9-0 win over UNH.
-The foil squad posted a record of 34-2 with 9-0 victories against BU and UNH.
