No. 19 Eagles Host Maine for Pair Thursday and Friday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – 19th-ranked Boston College hosts the Maine Black Bears for a two-game Hockey East series on Thursday and Friday night at Kelley Rink. Thursday's series opener will air on NESN at 7 p.m., while Friday's game is broadcast on NESNplus at 7 p.m. Free live video for viewers outside New England is available at CollegeSportsLive.com, and radio coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. both nights on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com.
MCBAIN PLAYS HERO IN HARTFORD
• Jack McBain wristed a shot high glove side with 1:22 left in the third period and BC skated away with three points in a 2-1 victory over UConn last Friday at the XL Center
• Colby Ambrosio scored late in the second period to tie the game at one and finished the night with a game-high eight shots on goal
• Graduate transfer Brandon Kruse assisted on both goals and collected his 150th career point
• Grad student Eric Dop was solid all night between the pipes, stopping 29 of the 30 UConn shots he faced for his 50th collegiate win
• Boston College out-shot UConn 39-30 for the game and 12-6 in the third period, the 10th straight opponent that the Eagles have out-shot
EAGLES FALL IN LOWELL
• No. 20 UMass Lowell scored twice in the third period to snap a 2-2 deadlock and held off BC for a 4-2 Hockey East victory last Saturday night at the Tsongas Center
• Linemates Trevor Kuntar and Marc McLaughlin had the goals for BC in the second period to tie the score through 40 minutes
• Boston College was out-shot for the first time in 11 games by a total of 37-26
• Andre Lee led the way for UMass Lowell with a pair of goals; he tipped a point shot from Jordan Schulting at 5:48 of the third for the eventual game-winner
• Carl Berglund then redirected a shot-pass from the slot on the power play at 10:41
SERIES HISTORY
• The schools are squaring off for the 132nd and 133rd all-time meetings this week with Boston College holding a 71-51-9 overall advantage over Maine
• BC swept the Black Bears 4-2 and 3-0 last February in a weekend series at Conte Forum
• Entering last season, Maine had won five straight games with the Eagles, including consecutive wins at Kelley Rink for the first time in seven years
