Eagles Take Third In Norman Reid Team Race

Team secured top five finishes in two of three events
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Eagles secured a top five finish in two of its three events over the weekend, including a third-place finish in the Norman Reid team race hosted by Harvard on the Charles River.
Competing against Brown, Harvard, MIT, and two teams from Tufts in the Norman Reid, the Eagles went 9-6 over the three rounds. Leading the Eagles were skippers Nick Budington, Jack Plavan, Charles Kreuzkamp, and Michael Kirkman along with crew Ginny Alex, Sara Schumann, and Isabella Gallo. In total, they took one victory against Brown, two against MIT, and went a perfect 6-0 against the two teams from Tufts.
At St. Mary's for the final round of the Atlantic Coast Championships, the Eagles finished ninth of eighteen teams, scoring 172 points in total. The A division was led by skipper Jack DeNatale and crew Michaela O'Brien, who won the first and third races of the day. They finished with 65 points, good for third place. The second team was led by Sophia Reineke and Laura Ferraris for the first three races, then Robert Hunter and Emma Batcher for the remainder, finishing with 107 points.
At Northeastern for the Oberg Trophy Regatta, the Eagles placed fourth of eighteen with a total of 255 points. The first team of skipper Colleen O'Brien and crew Nicole Moeder won the head-to-head tiebreak with Stanford to take third place, finishing with two first-place finishes and 77 total points. Elizabeth Redmond and Katelyn McGauley comprised the second team, winning three of their races and finishing with 88 points. The third team was right behind them, with Graham Ness and Mikayla Mathieu ending with 90 points.
