Clavenna's Match-High 13 Kills Lead Eagles to Win
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College volleyball got back in the win column Friday night in front of a packed Power Gym. The Eagles took down the Clemson Tigers in four sets, 3-1.
BC grabbed a back and forth set one 25-23. Clemson pulled ahead at the end of set two, taking it 25-20. Set three went to the Eagles 25-20. It was all Eagles in set four, starting with an early 5-0 run that included three aces from graduate Clare Naughton. BC outhit Clemson .274 to .235.
Junior Izzy Clavenna (Dallas, Texas) led all players with a match-high 13 kills. Amaka Chukwujekwu (Laurel, MD) and Naughton had 12 and 11 kills respectively. Clemson's Cate Long and Kaylee Martin each totaled 12 kills each.
Both teams' liberos had 20 or more digs. Clemson's Anna Renwich had 22, while BC's Anna Murphy (Zoinsville, Ind.) had 20.
The Eagles are back in ACC action on Sunday at 1:00pm vs Georgia Tech in Power Gym. The match will be streamed on ACC Network.
