Eagles drop fourth straight; back in action Sunday against NC State in Worcester.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College volleyball dropped a 3-0 match to North Carolina inside Power Gym on Friday night. The Eagles, who have lost four in a row, fell to 12-9 overall and 2-5 in the ACC, while the Tar Heels improved to 14-4 and 3-4.

BC hang in during the first set; losing 25-20, but UNC ran away in the following two sets by scores of 25-10 and 25-13. The Tar Heels outhit the Eagles .314 to .048 for the night.

UNC's Mabrey Shaffmaster led all players with nine kills. Graduate outside hitter Clare Naughton (Atlanta, Ga.) led BC with eight to go with six digs.

Sophomore libero Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.) posted a match-high 16 digs. UNC libero Karenna Wurl had 15.

The Eagles return to action Sunday at noon against NC State. The match will be played on the campus of Holy Cross in Worcester, inside Blaney Gymnasium due to BC's commencement 2020 event in Conte Forum.
