Hockey East rivals face off for the 241st time on Friday night at Kelley Rink
BOSTON – Third-ranked Boston College (6-2-0) opens a home-and-home series against 13th-ranked Northeastern (6-3-2) on Friday (Jan. 15) at Kelley Rink on NESN at 7 p.m. The teams close the series on Saturday (Jan. 16) at Matthews Arena, also on NESN at 7 p.m. Fans outside New England can watch both games for free on SportsLive. Pre-game radio coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
• Northeastern (6-3-2) rides a three-game winning streak into the weekend following a dominant 7-0 win over UNH on Wednesday at Matthews Arena
• NU swept Merrimack in a tight home-and-home series last weekend, earning 3-2 wins both nights including an overtime home victory on Friday
• Captain Zach Solow had four points on Wednesday against New Hampshire and leads the team in scoring with six goals and seven assists for 13 points
• Junior defenseman Jordan Harris has five goals and five assists and is tied with four other players for second on the squad in points
• Sophomore Connor Murphy has started all 11 games between the pipes with a 2.42 goals against average and a .921 save percentage; he posted a 37-save shutout against UNH on Wednesday

• McLaughlin finished the contest with a multi-point performance on a goal and an assist; the junior was plus-2 and won 15 of his 22 faceoffs on the night for BC, which never trailed
• Classmate Casey Carreau netted his first goal of the season in the opening period, while sophomore Mike Hardman collected his fourth in the middle frame
• Spencer Knight earned the win in net with 27 saves to extend his personal unbeaten streak to 14 games (13-0-1) dating back to last season
