Eagles Named ITA All-Academic Team

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Boston College men's tennis program earned status as an ITA All-Academic Team after the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its annual academic honors on Monday.
Additionally, five Eagles were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for their individual work in the classroom: Javi Amantegui, Derek Austin, Nicolas deQuesada, Chris Grasel and Max Mendelsohn.
At the 2020 Golden Eagle Awards, Austin received the Academic Advisors' Award for Excellence, while Mendelsohn won the Male Scholar-Athlete Award for the junior class.
The ITA All-Academic award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
