May 18, 2020 | Women's Tennis
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Kylie Wilcox has been named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Senior Player of the Year for the Northeast Region.Â
"Kylie is awesome. She is a very worthy recipient of the Northeast Senior Player of the Year award," said head coach Nigel Bentley. "She has had a terrific career. Our program continues to achieve new milestones and she has been a huge part of it all. Don't let her charming and delightful personality fool you, because she is a fierce competitor too. It has been a privilege being her college coach."
Wilcox went 10-6 overall in singles and 6-5 in the spring season while playing in the No. 2 slot for the Eagles. She defeated Sofya Golubovskaya of Syracuse for her lone ACC victory and advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITA Fall Regional Championships.
The co-captain finished the season ranked 38th nationally in doubles with junior Yufei Long. The duo knocked off Yale's ITA Fall All-American Doubles Champions Sam Martinelli and Jessie Gong 6-2. Wilcox and Long also collected a pair of ACC victories, including a 6-1 triumph over No. 59 Amber O'Dell and Chloe Gullickson of Virginia.
As a junior, Wilcox was named to the All-ACC Third Team and helped guide BC to the 2019 NCAA Tournament. She will return to the Heights next season for a fifth year of eligibility with the program.Â
