Knight Named Semifinalist for Mike Richter Award

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Freshman Spencer Knight has been announced by Let's Play Hockey as one of 10 semifinalists for the Mike Richter Award, which honors the nation's top collegiate goaltender.
The five finalists will be announced on Monday, March 30 and the seventh annual award will be presented on April 10.
Knight was tied for third in the nation with five shutouts during his rookie campaign, becoming just the fourth goaltender in program history to record at least five shutouts in a single season.
He ranked fifth nationally in winning percentage (.727) with a 23-8-2 record and was ninth in both goals against average (1.97) and save percentage (.931). He closed his first collegiate season riding a personal nine-game unbeaten streak (8-0-1).
Knight was named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star and was a unanimous selection to the All-Rookie Team. In addition to winning six Hockey East weekly awards, he earned the league's Rookie of the Month award for November and was tabbed Goaltender of the Month for December.
Thatcher Demko (2016) is Boston College's lone recipient of the Mike Richter Award.
