Anderson Throws No-Hitter in BC Win over Georgetown

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Sophomore Susannah Anderson threw her first career no-hitter in a 1-0 victory against Georgetown on Feb. 9 n the FGCU Kickoff Classic.

Anderson posted an incredible stat line, with a career-high 10 strikeouts, no walks in seven innings. Her only blemish was hitting two batters early in the game.
Â
The Alexandria, Virginia native started off hot, striking out six of the first seven batters she faced and ending the third inning with eight total strikeouts.

In the fifth inning, Maddy Carpe was walked Gianna Boccagno then reached on a fielding error before Kristin Giery laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the runners into scoring position with one out. Emme Martinez then pinch-hit for AJ Alatorre and hit a hard grounder to the shortstop, scoring the runner from third.

Anderson then pitched two perfect innings to close the game and secure the 1-0 win for BC.

Boston College heads to Atlanta to face Iowa and Nebraska in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge at Georgia Tech, the weekend of Feb. 14-16.
