Eagles Fall to No. 22 South Carolina in Extras

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Boston College softball team fell to No. 22 South Carolina, 3-2, in eight innings to open the Gamecock Invitational on Friday, Feb. 22.
Susannah Anderson was on the mound for the entire game, throwing 143 pitches, while giving up 10 hits and three earned runs with three strikeouts.
The Eagles opened the scoring for the game when she took a 3-2 pitch deep to left field with no one one in the top of the third.
Two innings later, South Carolina tied it up on single through the middle.
BC then took the lead again in the top of the seventh, when Kristin Giery hit a pitch off the wall in dead center, scoring Djhane Valido from first. South Carolina, then, tied it up in the bottom of the inning on a double to left center.
The Gamecocks would then end it in the eighth on a double to left center, scoring a runner from first.
What's Next
The Eagles are back in action tomorrow, Feb. 22, playing Liberty at 10 a.m. and Elon at 5:30 p.m.
