Belinskas tied for the national lead in goals and game-winning goals on the week.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Hockey East announced Monday that Boston College forward Delaney Belinskas has been named the league's Player of the Week. The senior tied for the national lead with three goals and two game-winning goals on the week to help the Eagles to two wins.
Â
Belinskas scored the game-winning goal in BC's 3-1 win over No. 10 Harvard on Tuesday night in the Beanpot Tournament consolation game. Against Maine on Friday, Belinskas scored two goals, including the overtime game-winning goal, for her sixth multi-goal outing of the year. The Port Orange, Fla. native fired six shots on goal all three of BC's contests last week to finish with a league-leading 18.
Â
The senior's six multi-goal games this season leads all of Hockey East and sits tied for third overall in the nation. Belinskas now has a career-high 19 goals this season, a number that ranks fourth in Hockey East. She has 23 points on the year off of her 19 goals and four assists. Her 90 career points puts her into a tie for 25th all-time in program history while her 48 career goals rank tied for 16th.
Â
This marks the second Player of the Week award of the season for Belinskas and the fifth overall weekly award. She was named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week three times during her 2016-17 freshman season.
Â
Boston College will close out the regular season next weekend with a single game at New Hampshire on Saturday, Feb. 22. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. at the Whittemore Center. Â
