Kamari Williams led BC with a season-best 14 points
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Kamari Williams came off the bench to score a team and season-high 14 points as Boston College dropped an 85-58 decision at Miami.
Steffon Mitchell got BC started on the night with a 3-point play, and Jay Heath followed with a 3-pointer, as the Eagles led 10-5 less than three minutes into the contest. The two teams were tied at 14-14 with 11:24 left. But Miami scored 17 unanswered as part of a 24-2 run, as the Canes led 38-17 with just under four minutes to go. The Eagles would close the half on a 6-0 run and trailed 38-23 at the break.
It was a back-and-forth start to the second half, as Boston College got within 12 - 55-43 - with 10:06 to play after a Derryck Thornton 3-point play. But the Hurricanes would outscore the Eagles, 30-15, the rest of the way to close it out.
Nik Popovic added 10 points, six boards, six assists, and three steals in 25 minutes off the bench.
