
No. 2 Eagles Dominate No. 12 Providence 9-0 to Sweep Weekend

Nine players had multi-point performances and Spencer Knight posted his second straight shutout
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Second-ranked Boston College dominated No. 12 Providence 9-0 on Saturday night at Schneider Arena to sweep a home-and-home series. The Eagles remained perfect at 4-0-0 after out-scoring the Friars (0-2-0) by a score of 12-0 over the weekend.
Matt Boldy, Colby Ambrosio and Trevor Kuntar all had two-goal performances for BC, which finished the night with three shorthanded goals. Logan Hutsko (1-2-3) and Patrick Giles (career-high three assists) joined Boldy with three-point nights.
Nikita Nesterenko (1-1-2), Marc McLaughlin (1-1-2), Mike Hardman (0-2-2) and Jack McBain (0-2-2) gave the Eagles nine players with multiple points. Rookie Harrison Roy picked up his first career point with an assist.
Spencer Knight posted his second straight shutout, the seventh of his young career, with a total 36 saves. Knight has an active shutout streak of 132Â minutes dating back to the third period last Saturday at UMass.Â
The offensive output was the Eagles' highest since beating Northeastern 10-1 at home in February.
Boston College was 7-for-7 on the penalty kill, including three separate 5-on-3's.

1st 10:38, BC (2-0) | Hutsko won a shorthanded puck battle and centered to McLaughlin, who tucked a shot past the outstretched pad of Gabe Mollot-Hill at the right post.
2nd 4:26, BC (3-0) | Hutsko picked out Nesterenko in the left wing circle and the rookie quickly fired a shot into the top left corner.Â
2nd 5:46, BC (4-0) | Ambrosio finished a tic-tac-toe passing play with Hardman and Boldy from inside the right dot on a low first-time finish.
2nd 8:17, BC (5-0) | On a shorthanded rush up the left wing, Boldy uncorked a drive that beat Anton Martinsson low short side under the blocker.
3rd 0:18, BC (6-0) | Nesterenko slipped a pass across the goalmouth to the right doorstep for Hutsko, who found the back of the net on a second effort.
3rd 12:15, BC (7-0) | Giles created a turnover in the left wing circle and Kuntar spun a shot into the top right corner through a McLaughlin screen.
3rd 13:09, BC (8-0) | Giles and McLaughlin linked up behind the net and the latter slipped a pass in front for Kuntar to finish five-hole.
3rd 16:52, BC (9-0) | Ambrosio's shorthanded feed to Roy was blocked back into the slot for Ambrosio, who found the bottom right corner.Â
