
Browne, Tulchinsky Each Score Twice as BC Tops UConn

Kelly Browne and Natalie Tulchinsky each scored two goals and Maddy McArthur made 36 saves as the No. 10 Boston College women's hockey team topped UConn, 5-3.
STORRS, Conn. – Kelly Browne and Natalie Tulchinsky each scored two goals and Maddy McArthur made 36 saves as the No. 10 Boston College women's hockey team topped the UConn Huskies, 5-3, on Friday night at the Mark Freitas Ice Forum.
Hannah Bilka added her second goal of the season while 10 total Eagles picked up points on the night. Cayla Barnes and Hadley Hartmetz both had two assists.
McArthur finished with 36 saves for BC, including 14 in the final frame. On the other end, Samantha Carpentier-Yelle stopped 26 shots for UConn. The Huskies held the 39-31 lead in shots on goal. Neither BC (0-for-2) or UConn (0-for-3) converted on the power play.

- 1st, 2:56 | 1-0, BC GOAL: In the defensive zone on a penalty kill, Barnes chipped the puck to the middle allowing Browne to skate the length of the ice into the offensive zone. After hitting the right circle, she moved to the left and wristed a shot past a diving defender and through the legs of Carpentier-Yelle.
- 1st, 9:12 | 2-0, BC GOAL: From the left corner, Barnes sent the puck across the zone back to the point. Alexie Guay collected the puck and sent a slap shot towards goal that Bilka tipped in.
- 1st, 10:39 | 2-1, UCONN GOAL: Savannah Bouzide sent a puck on net that McArthur got a piece of but it took another deflection off a stick high, popping over the goaltender and in the net.
- 2nd, 00:12 | 2-2, UCONN GOAL: Capitalizing on a turnover just over the blue line, Bouzide skated in on McArthur and cut in towards goal to slip a shot in at the post.
- 2nd, 9:44 | 3-2, BC GOAL: The Eagles were peppering Carpentier-Yelle with shots and one from Hartmetz dropped to Jillian Fey on the left side of the crease and she poked it over to the other side to Tulchinsky who stuffed it in the net.
- 3rd, 2:59 | 4-2, BC GOAL: Savannah Norcross carried the puck down the right wing and then spun on her defender to center a pass that a crashing Browne tipped high and under the crossbar.
- 3rd, 4:40 | 5-2, BC GOAL: Maddie Crowley-Cahill took a shot that wound its way through traffic and dropped at the left side of the crease, where Tulchinsky beat the defender to lift it home over the right pad of Carpentier-Yelle.
- 3rd, 19:54 | 5-3, UCONN GOAL: Emily Reid took a shot from the blue line and Kate Klassen was able to put the rebound home at the left post.
- BC now holds a 39-19-10 mark in the all-time series with UConn … the Eagles have a mark of 15-9-8 against UConn in Storrs … head coach Katie Crowley is now 32-7-7 in her career against the Huskies.
- Kelly Browne picked up the third multi-goal game of her career … it was the 17th multi-point game of her career … Browne's first goal of the night was the second short-handed goal of her career.
