BC Trio Selected to U.S. World Junior Preliminary Roster

Matt Boldy, Spencer Knight and Drew Helleson are one step closer to representing Team USA in Alberta
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boston College sophomores Matt Boldy, Spencer Knight and Drew Helleson have been selected by USA Hockey to the preliminary roster for the 2021 U.S. National Junior Team. The 29 players chosen will gather for a training camp at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan starting on Dec. 6.
Players are auditioning for a spot on the final 25-man roster that will represent the U.S. in the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton, Alberta from Dec. 25, 2020 – Jan. 5, 2021. The final roster will be announced on Dec. 13, prior to the team's departure from Plymouth to Edmonton.
The United States enters the World Junior Championship seeking its fifth medal in six years after earning a record four consecutive medals from 2016-19. Team USA will play its preliminary games against Group B opponents Austria, Czech Republic, Russia and Sweden.
Sophomore and Newfoundland native Alex Newhook is currently competing for a spot on Team Canada for the upcoming tournament.
