Jenna Pollock and Nikki Steinheiser provide firepower in coach Jason Kennedy's signing class.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College volleyball coach Jason Kennedy announced the signing of two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday. The Eagles added middle blocker Jenna Pollock (St. Catharines, Ont.) and outside hitter Nikki Steinheiser (Celina, Texas).
"Jenna and Nikki bring some needed fire power and versatility into our lineup," said Kennedy, who is in his third season at BC. "They each have the ability to hit across all three front row positions and gives us a good amount of options for 2021 and beyond."
The 6-foot-2 Pollock has spent the last two seasons playing for Defensa Volleyball, which is the number-two ranked club in Ontario, Canada. She attends Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, where she led her team to a conference championship in 2019-20. Pollock is a two-time captain and three-time team MVP. She also threw javelin and discus on the track and field team.
"Jenna is one of Canada's top junior players and has some high level international experience," Kennedy added. "Primarily training as a middle, she's equally effective on the left side and brings a physicality into the gym that we will immediately benefit from. Jenna has Olympic aspirations and we're looking forward to helping her reach those goals over the next four years."
Steinheiser (Stine-hi-zer), a 6-foot tall product from Prosper High School, plays her club volleyball with the Dallas Skyline Juniors and previously played for Madfrog Volleyball. She competed at USA Volleyball Nationals five years in a row; earning medals on four occasions and twice gaining All-Tournament Honors (2015, 2016). Steinheiser lettered all four years at Prosper, while guiding the team to three consecutive district championships.
"Nikki has one of the highest motors I've seen in a really long time," stated Kennedy. "She is the player that will run through the wall going after a ball, run back on the court, and be willing to take big swings with matches on the line. Her competitiveness and drive will be fun to watch as a teammate, coach, and a fan."
