Four Eagles Selected for 2021 U.S. National Team Tryouts

SPARKS, Md. – Four Eagles have been invited to the U.S. women's lacrosse national team tryouts, as announced by head coach Jenny Levy and her staff, Monday.

Three former student-athletes, Sam Apuzzo, Dempsey Arsenault and Kenzie Kent received invites, and are joined by senior Charlotte North. Joining those four is current assistant coach Kayla Treanor.

The team selected will be representing the stars and stripes in the 2021 World Lacrosse Women's World Championships hosted by US Lacrosse from July 7-17 at Towson University in Towson, Md., marking the first time the event has been held in the United States since 2005.

One of the most decorated athletes during her time at BC, Apuzzo two-time Tewaaraton Award finalist, winning the award in 2018. She also won the Honda Award in 2018. She is the all-time leader at BC in points (390), goals (278) and draw controls (444). Apuzzo is tied with Kent for the fastest to 100 points, doing so in 25 games. Apuzzo is also a two-time ACC and IWLCA Player of the Year.

Arsenault was A balanced threat both offensively and defensively, the midfielder has been a do-it-all athlete for the Eagles, ranking in the top-10 in program history for career points (215), goals (142), assists (73), ground balls (164) and draw controls (283). She was a Tewaaraton Award finalist in 2019 and earned IWLCA and ACC Player of the Year honors in 2019.

Kent is tied for fourth all-time in points with 255 and is the program leader with 131 assists. Kent was named an IWLCA All-American in 2019. A two-sport standout, Kent was a top-five pick in both the WPLL draft and NWHL draft.

During their time at BC, the Eagles made three consecutive national championship games.

North is heading into her second season on The Heights after spending two seasons at Duke. She had 35 points on 23 goals and 12 assists during a shortened seven game season in 2020. Coming to BC, North scored 82 goals at Duke as a sophomore, finishing third in the nation with 4.32 goals per game.

Treanor, a former player at Syracuse, has been in Chestnut Hill as an assistant coach since 2017. She was a member of the 2017 World Championship winning national team and won gold as a member of the U-19 national team in the 2011 FIL U19 World Championship.
