Eagles drop fourth straight match to start the season.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Boston College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 sweep at No. 11 Pittsburgh on Saturday night. The Eagles fell to 0-4 on the season, while the Panthers improved to 2-2.
BC lost in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-23 and 25-19.
Senior outside hitter Clare Naughton (Atlanta, Ga.) led the Eagles with eight kills and added four digs. Senior middle blocker Amaka Chukwujekwu (Laurel, Md.) added six kills on a .400 attach rate.
Freshman setter Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) dished out a team-high 14 assists, while classmate Sophia Lambros (Fullerton, Calif.) contributed 12. Freshman libero Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.) led BC with nine digs.
Boston College is in action next weekend at Syracuse beginning Friday, Oct. 16.
