Eagles Compete at BU’s John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON – The Boston College women's track and field team took the trip down Comm Ave for the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Jan. 24-25 at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
The Eagles' top finish of the meet came in the 5000m, where they placed four runners in the top-seven. Lauren White led the way with a first-place finish in 16:28.53. Then, Isabelle Kennedy and Fian Sullivan Sweeney finished in fourth and fifth, respectively, in times of 16:36.53 and 16:42.63. Anna Oeser then crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 16:49.23.
White's time puts her onto the record books with the ninth-fastest time in program history.
Julia Lyons then had the next highest finish for the Eagles, placing fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.65m (18-6.50). Paige Duca wrote her name in the record books with a sixth-place finish in the 1000m. She crossed the finish line in 2:45.24 for the second-fastest 1000m in program history.
Abigail Gothers went on to place 10th in the high jump with a height of 1.60m (5-3.00).

BC is in action next weekend on Saturday, Feb. 1 for the Scarlet & White Invitational, held at BU's Track and Tennis Center.
