
Delaney Belinskas Named Hockey East Player of the Week

The senior scored five goals and added an assist in two games over the weekend.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Hockey East announced on Monday that Boston College forward Delaney Belinskas has been named the league's Player of the Week. The senior led the country in scoring on the weekend with six points on a nation-leading five goals and one assist.
Belinskas scored three goals in BC's come-from-behind 7-5 win over Vermont on Friday night, notching her third career hat trick and tallying an assist in the victory, and then had two goals in Saturday's tie. She opened the scoring 43 seconds into Friday's game and then completed her hat trick midway through the third period before adding an assist on the game's final goal. It marked her third career four-point game. She finished the weekend with 10 shots on goal.
Additionally, with her performance on Friday, the Port Orange, Fla. native became the 23rd player in program history to join the 40 goals, 40 assists club. Belinskas now has five multi-goal games on the season and 11 in her career.
This marks the first Player of the Week award and fourth overall weekly award for Belinskas, as she was named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week three times during her 2016-17 freshman season.
Boston College will play a home-and-home series with Providence this weekend, hosting the Friars on Friday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. before traveling to Schneider Arena for a 2 p.m. puck drop on Saturday, Jan. 25.
