September 26, 2019 | Women's Hockey
BC, ranked eighth nationally in both polls, is coming off the program's 11th NCAA tournament berth.
BOSTON – At the Hockey East media day at TD Garden on Thursday, the league released the annual coaches' poll and announced a league record TV package in partnership with NESN.
BC, which is ranked eighth nationally in both polls and is coming off the program's 11th NCAA tournament berth, will enter the 2019-20 season tabbed third in the conference with 65 points. Defending Hockey East Tournament champion Northeastern claimed the top spot with nine first-place votes and 81 points while second-place Boston University had 71 points and the other first-place vote. Providence (56) and UNH (42) rounded out the top five with UConn (41), Merrimack (30), Maine (29), Vermont (25) and Holy Cross (9) closing out the poll.
The agreement secures television coverage for both women's and men's regular season contests, and extensive postseason coverage that will include both the men's and women's championship weekends. Up to 15 women's games will be aired during the 2019-20 regular season and as many postseason games as possible. Games airing on NESN and NESNplus will be available exclusively on the networks and the NESNgo app within New England. BC will have five home games available on NESN and two away games.
