September 18, 2019 | Rowing
The Eagles and first-year head coach Grace Hollowell prepared for four fall races.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College rowing team and first-year head coach Grace Hollowell released its 2019 fall schedule this week. The Eagles's first of four races is October 12 at the Head of the Housatonic in New Haven, Conn.
The annual highlight of the fall slate is the Head of the Charles on the Charles River in Boston. The regatta is scheduled for Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20. Last year, BC raced three boats on its home course in the 54th Head of the Charles Regatta; the largest two-day regatta in the world. The Eagles finished 15th out of 52 boats in the Women's Club 4+ race in a time of 19:48.903.
The fall schedule continues with the Princeton Chase in New Jsey on October 27. The season's final race takes place on November 17 at the Foot of the Charles.
A complete spring schedule will be released at a later date.
Hollowell was announced as the new head coach of the program on August 26. She joined Boston College as the assistant rowing coach at the start of the fall 2018 semester after spending four years at Dartmouth. For 2019-20, the Eagles return All-ACC Second Team selection Kylie Kraemer along with Jacqueline Taeubel and Rachel Taeubel, who earned Academic All-ACC and raced as a part of the Varsity 8 with Kraemer.
