NEISA Mens' Singlehanded Championships

Eagles Compete at Four Regattas; Reineke Second at NEISA Single-Handed Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior Sophia Reineke competed at the NEISA Women's Single-Handed Championships this past weekend, placing second with 38 points in the 11-person field, while the Boston College sailing team competed in four regattas across the New England area.
Also competing at the Women's Single-Handed Championships was freshman Elizabeth Shanahan, who scored 60 points. On the men's side at the Men's NEISA Single-Handed Championships, senior Scott Rasmussen finished sixth with 104 points.
The Eagles also competed for the Nicholas Barnett Trophy at Bowdoin College, placing third with 193 points between both divisions. The pairing of Jack Plavan and Nicole Moeder scored 99 points to finish in fourth in the A division, while Graham Ness and Elizabeth Russell finished tied for fifth in the B division with 94 points.
Lastly, BC competed for the Hatch Brown Trophy, placing 11th in the 19-team field. The Eagles scored 421 points, with 130 coming from Robert Hunter and Zoe Ting in the A division, 155 from Thomas Walden and Katherine Bowman in the B division and 136 from Jack DeNatale and Mikayla Mathieu in the C division.

BC is back next weekend, competing for the Hood Trophy, Hoyt Trophy, Mrs. Hurst Trophy and in the Showcase Qualifier on September 21-22.
