
Rebecca Cegledy Named Associate AD for Campus Recreation

Cegledy will oversee Boston College's entire campus recreation department, including the Margot Connell Recreation Center
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Rebecca Cegledy has been named Associate AD for Campus Recreation, it was announced today by Martin Jarmond, the William V. Campbell Director of Athletics.Â

Cegledy will oversee Boston College's entire campus recreation department, including the Margot Connell Recreation Center. The state-of-the-art 244,000 square-foot, four-story structure off St. Thomas More Road offers the BC community an inspired space to play, pursue sports, gather with friends and work out.Â

The new facility includes a fitness center, rock climbing wall, jogging track, aquatics center, wood-floor basketball courts, tennis courts, multi-activity courts, multi-purpose rooms for spin, yoga, and fitness classes, and more.

"Becca Cegledy has been a valuable member of our team for the past five years and has played a vital role as we transitioned from the William J. Flynn Student Recreation Complex to the Margot Connell Recreation Center," Jarmond said. "Our new recreation center is one of the top campus recreation facilities in the country and is a point of pride for the entire university community. I am excited for her to take on this new opportunity."

She has spent the previous five years as the associate director of facilities and operations with Boston College's campus recreation department. Prior to her arrival at the Heights, Cegledy served as the assistant director for member services and marketing with the University of Maryland's department of recreation and wellness.

"I would like to thank Martin Jarmond and Vaughn Williams and the Boston College Administration for the opportunity to continue to strengthen BC's commitment to developing the whole person through athletics and recreation," Cegledy said. "The opening of the Margot Connell Recreation Center marks an exciting time on the Heights. I look forward to leading the Campus Recreation team and collaborating with our campus partners to foster new experiences that will positively impact not only our students, but the entire BC community."

Her career began at her alma mater - The Ohio State University. After earning her bachelor's degree in human ecology in 2003, Cegledy earned her Master's Degree in Sport and Exercise Management in 2005. During her postgraduate education, she served as a graduate assistant in Ohio State's department of recreational sports.

 In 2018, she earned an MBA from the Carroll Graduate School of Management at Boston College, along with a certificate in Human Resources development from the Woods College of Advancing Studies.
