Rebecca Cegledy is currently in her sixth year as the associate athletic director; campus recreation director, and her eleventh year at Boston College.
She oversees the campus recreation department including aquatics and instructional programming, competitive sports, fitness, marketing, outdoor adventure, student development, youth recreation summer day camp, as well as the operations of the Margot Connell Recreation Center, Newton Quonset Hut, Brookline Campus Gymnasium, and outdoor recreation fields and courts.Â
Her responsibilities also include serving as the sport administrator for the varsity fencing programs.Â
Prior to joining the recreation staff at Boston College as the associate director of facilities and operations in 2014, Rebecca worked as the assistant director of member services and creative services in the campus recreation department at the University of Maryland.Â
Before that, she worked in the recreational sports department at the Ohio State University as a facility coordinator and as a facilities graduate administrative associate, where she also taught classes through the physical activity and educational services department. Additionally, she has also worked in high school athletics and with Special Olympics Ohio.
Hailing from Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Cegledy received her Bachelor of Science degree in human ecology and Master of Arts degree in sport and exercise management from the Ohio State University. She went on to obtain a master’s degree of business administration, certificates of human resources and organizational leadership and design from Boston College.
She is currently working to obtain a project management degree from Boston College.
