Duca Advances to 1,500m Final at NCAA East Prelims

Delanis narrowly misses qualifying for national championship meet in 10,000m
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Paige Duca advanced to the finals of the 1,500m tonight in the first day of competition at the 2019 NCAA East Preliminary round of the outdoor track & field championship.
Duca clocked a season-best 4:19.63, finishing fifth in her heat - and fifth overall - in the opening rounds of the 1,500m. She will race for a chance to advance to the NCAA Championship on Saturday, May 25. Duca will race in the 1,500m final on Saturday, May 25.
Emeline Delanis placed 14th overall in the 10,000m, narrowly missed earning a spot in the field of the NCAA Championship. She crossed the finish line in a personal-best 33:56.84 - just two seconds away from the 12th and final qualifying spot.
Amanda Sinkewicz placed 34th in the opening round of the javelin throw. Sinkewicz registered a mark of 43.16m (141'7").
