
Obrest Resigns as Boston College Softball Head Coach

BC grad led the Eagles to five winning seasons
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond announced today that Ashley Obrest has resigned from her position as head coach of the Boston College softball program. Obrest just completed her eighth season at BC and posted an overall record of 200-219, including a mark of 66-113 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

"We thank Ashley for her eight years of hard work and service in leading her alma mater," said Jarmond. "We wish her all the best during the next chapter of her career."

During her career as head coach, Obrest led BC to five winning seasons, including three seasons with a winning record in ACC play.

Assistant coach Megan Brown will serve as interim head coach until a new coach is named. A national search will begin immediately for Obrest's replacement.

"We will search for someone who is a leader that demonstrates a commitment to providing an elite experience on and off the diamond, who understands our commitment to winning and to the holistic development of our student-athletes."
