Cotton to Captain Eagles in 2019-20, McPhee Voted Assistant Captain

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Rising senior forward David Cotton has been voted as the captain of the Boston College men's hockey team for the 2019-20 season, while classmate Graham McPhee has been selected as the Eagles' assistant captain.
The pair replaces the leadership trio of seniors Christopher Brown, Casey Fitzgerald and Michael Kim, who spent the last two seasons as tri-captains and are all currently playing in the American Hockey League.
A Hockey East First Team All-Star for the first time, Cotton is coming off a career year with 23 goals to lead the league. Cotton also led Hockey East with eight power play goals this past season and was named to the New England All-Star Team.
Nationally, Cotton was sixth in the country in goals per game and tied for 20th in power play goals. He posted eight multi-point games to lead the team and rank 11th in Hockey East. The Texan enters his final season at BC just 12 points shy of 100 in 116 career games.
McPhee skated in 29 games this past season as a junior with three goals and six assists. He missed the final nine games of the season due to injury after blocking a shot on the road against Maine. McPhee played in his 100th career game on Feb. 8 against UMass Lowell.
Boston College reached its second Hockey East Championship Game in the last three years before falling 3-2 to Northeastern at TD Garden. The Eagles upset a pair of Frozen Four squads in the first two rounds of the Hockey East Tournament, defeating No. 2 seed Providence and No. 1 seed UMass.
