After a seven-point performance, the senior reigns in conference honors for the second time this season
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Following the No. 1 Boston College women's lacrosse teams' 12th straight win of the season, senior captain Sam Apuzzo has been tabbed as the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The attacker put up six goals and one assist for seven points while causing one turnover and winning two draws in a 16-9 win over No. 7 Virginia.
Apuzzo led all goal- and point-scorers over the top-10 matchup, while tallying both of the first two goals of the contest which pushed the Eagles to a lead that they never let up. The reigning Tewaaraton Award recipient currently leads the NCAA in goals (59), goals per game (4.92), points (77) and points per game (6.42). The honor marks the second time this season that Apuzzo has reigned in ACC Player of the Week recognition.Â
The Eagles continue their stretch as they host No. 5 Notre Dame for a midweek conference clash. First draw is set for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 in Newton.Â
