Kelly Browne Tabbed Hockey East Rookie of the Week

Kelly Browne assisted on Ryan Little's overtime game-winning goal that gave BC a quarterfinal sweep of UConn.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Boston College women's hockey forward Kelly Browne has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday by the league.
Browne picked up two assists on the weekend in the Eagles' Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal sweep of UConn. On Friday, Browne assisted on Megan Keller's power-play goal and also registered three shots on goal, two blocked shots and seven face-off wins in the 4-1 victory. In Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Huskies, the rookie earned the primary assist on Ryan Little's game-winning goal nine minutes into overtime. She added two shots on goal and 11 wins at the dot.
The Burlington, Mass. native's 18 face-off wins on the weekend led all conference rookies. Browne now has 24 points on the year off of 10 goals and 14 assists. She's registered at least one point in eight out of the last 10 games and has 11 points over that span. Overall, Browne is tied for third in the country among rookies in face-off wins with 326. This is the second time this season that Browne has been named the rookie of the week.
Browne and the second-seeded Eagles will take on the third-ranked Boston University Terriers on Saturday, March 9 in the Hockey East Tournament semifinals at Providence's Schneider Arena.
