Eagles Begin Road Stretch at Virginia Tech and No. 44 Harvard

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's tennis plays its next five matches on the road, beginning with trips to ACC rival Virginia Tech on Friday (March 29) at 2 p.m. and No. 44 Harvard on Sunday (March 31) at 12 p.m. The Eagles are 5-10 overall and are still in search of their first ACC win.
SCOUTING VA TECH
Virginia Tech enters the weekend at 13-5 (3-3 ACC) with a 12-1 mark at home. The Hokies have won five straight matches overall, including three in ACC play against Duke, Clemson and Georgia Tech. Mitch Harper is the 43rd-ranked singles player in the most recent ITA rankings, while Jason Kros sits 56th. Harper and Carlo Donato rank 59th nationally in doubles, followed by Henrik Korsgaard and Alexandre Ribeiro in 72nd. The Eagles fell 6-1 in their last trip to Blacksburg two years ago.Â
SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson is ranked 44th in the nation as a team and is 11-5 overall entering its matchup with BC on Sunday afternoon at the Murr Center. Harvard traveled to the 2019 San Diego Classic last week, beating San Diego State and Princeton but falling to Tulane. Logan Weber and Andy Zhou rank 33rd nationally as a doubles team, while the tandem of Weber and Brian Shi ranks 49th. Harvard hasn't faced Boston College since January of 2016, a 6-1 home victory.Â

BC travels to Worcester to face Holy Cross next Wednesday, April 3 before heading to North Carolina to take on No. 11 UNC on Friday, April 5 and Duke on Sunday, April 7.Â
