CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior tri-captains Casey Fitzgerald, Christopher Brown and Michael Kim are all headed to the American Hockey League after signing professional contracts this week. The trio led the Eagles for the last two seasons as captains.Â
Fitzgerald agreed on a two-year entry level contract with the Buffalo Sabres, who drafted him in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft. Fitzgerald's contract begins next season as he will initially report to the AHL's Rochester Americans.Â
Brown and Kim both signed amateur tryout agreements with Pittsburgh's affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.Â
Fitzgerald and Brown each played in all 39 games this season and finished their careers with 151 games played, becoming just the 46th and 47th BC players to reach 150 in program history.Â
Fitzgerald received Hockey East All-Star Honorable Mention honors and closed the season ranked second among team defensemen in scoring with 14 points on two goals and 12 assists. Kim led Eagles defensemen in scoring for the second straight season with 15 points, including five during the Hockey East Quarterfinals.Â
Brown was fifth on the squad in scoring with 16 points and finished his career with 72 points on 27 goals and 45 assists.
