Eagles Fall on the Road at Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Boston College women's tennis team fell 6-1 on the road to 33rd-ranked Wake Forest on Friday night. Natasha Irani earned the team's lone point by winning her No. 4 singles match.
The Demon Deacons began the match by winning the doubles point in convincing fashion, earning 6-2 victories in the No. 1 and 2 slots.
40th-ranked Emma Davis opened singles play by beating Kylie Wilcox in straight sets, narrowly edging the BC junior in a first set tiebreaker. No. 101 Yufei Long was forced to retire in her second set at No. 2 singles against No. 96 Anna Ulyashchenko.
Jackie Urbinati and Maria Ross each fell in straight sets, while Dasha Possokhova lost despite forcing a third set tiebreaker in the second to last match of the night. Irani's match was the last to finish as she edged out Saby Nihalani 11-9 in the superbreaker to post a point for the Eagles. Â
BC (9-4, 1-4 ACC) will head to South Carolina on Sunday (March 3) to face Clemson at 11 a.m.
