
DiEmmanuele Sets Career Stolen Base Record in Win

Eagles cruise to 8-4 victory over Central Michigan
MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. – Senior Lexi DiEmmanuele finished with three hits and stole two bases to break the Boston College career stolen base record in the Eagles' 8-4 win over Central Michigan in the Madeira Beach Tournament.

DiEmmanuele now has 87 career stolen bases to move past Megan Cooley's previous school record of 86 steals.

Boston College moved to 4-9 on the season while Central Michigan dropped to 5-7 overall.

In the first inning, DiEmmanuele singled, stole second and scored as the Eagles scored twice in the opening frame.

BC added to its lead with a run in the second as Gianna Randazza delivered a RBI single to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage.

Central Michigan took advantage of a BC error to score two unearned runs in the home half of the second to cut the deficit to 3-2.

The Chippewas took their first lead of the game with another two-run inning in the third to take a 4-3 lead.

BC responded with one run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth and sixth innings to close out the scoring at 8-4.

The Eagles tied a season-high with 17 hits in the victory. Second baseman Jenna Ergle was a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored for the victors. The four hits for Ergle were a season-high.

Leftfielder Ellie Mataya added two hits and a RBI while catcher Gianna Boccagno scored two runs for the Eagles. First baseman Allyson Moore contributed a season-best three hits as well as she finished 3-for-3 with a RBI and run scored.

Freshman Camryn Dolby picked up the win with two strikeouts in 2.0 innings of work.
